Radiological Controls Technician (RCT)
Position Requirements: The RCT will report to the RCS and will perform on-site duties as assigned by site procedures and the RSOR. This position will primarily support Navy radiological remediation work at Navy facilities.
Position Location: San Francisco; Oakland; San Diego, CA:
Experience Level: a minimum of 5-10 years in various capacities performing health physics support.
Duration: Full Time
Compensation: Competitive (Dependent on Experience Level)
Position Summary: The Radiological Control Technicians (RCTs) will support projects in the field, and conduct radiological field activities under the direction of the RCS or RSOR, in accordance with the Philotechnics RML, RWPs, Philotechnics California Health Physics Procedures, etc. The RCT shall maintain radiological control Areas (RCAs) for Philotechnics operations and other site contractor personnel, release personnel and material from RCAs; survey, monitor, support field remediation activities, Perform survey equipment response checks, and daily checks of the survey instruments and implement RWPs.

Position Qualifications & Experience Needed:
- Two-Year Technical Degree in Health Physics or related field and/or a combination of training and experience such as DOE RCT core, Radiological Controls Article 108, Radiological Controls for Shipyards, etc, is required.
- Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in radiological remediation work environments.
- Must have 40-hour HAZWOPER; Medical clearance for PPE and respirator use.
- Must be familiar with NRC, Agreement State and other related environmental regulations affecting work in remediation environments.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Work experience in California a plus; work experience at Navy facilities a plus; 49 CFR 172 training for packaging, shipping and transportation of radioactive and mixed waste materials a plus.
