Radiological Controls Supervisor (RCS)

Position Requirements: The RCS will report to the RSOR and assist the RSOR with radiological compliance activities as designated by the RSOR. This position will primarily support Navy radiological remediation work at Navy facilities.

Position Location: San Francisco; Oakland; San Diego, CA:

Experience Level: a minimum of 5-10 years in various capacities performing complex health physics support.

Duration: Full Time

Position Summary: An RCS will direct RCT personnel in day to day radiological functions. The RCS assists the RSOR to ensure that field activities comply with corporate and site specific procedures, RWPs and the Philotechnics California Radioactive Material License, Philotechnics California Health Physics Procedures, etc. The RCS will assist preparation of RWPs, assist with radiological training, oversee survey and decontamination activities, the use of equipment and instrumentation, and support of other radiological activities as many be assigned by the RSOR. The RCS will enforce radiological controls and coordinate with other site contractors to provide radiological coverage.

Position Qualifications & Experience Needed:

• Bachelor degree in Health Physics related field or other closely related environmental field is preferred.
• Two-Year Technical Degree in Health Physics or related field and/or a combination of training and experience such as DOE RCT core, Radiological Controls Article 108, Radiological Controls for Shipyards, etc, is required.
• Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in radiological site characterization and remediation work environments.
• Must have 40-hour HAZWOPER medical clearance for PPE and respirator use.
• Must have 49 CFR 172 training for packaging, shipping and transportation requirements for radioactive and mixed waste materials.
• Must be knowledgeable of NRC, Agreement State and other related environmental regulations.
• Must have excellent writing and communication skills.
• Work experience in California a plus; work experience at Navy facilities a plus.
